Facebook, the Menlo Park, California-based company, is making news headlines again as news of software that it patented last year finally became public. The patent would allow the tech company to analyze information to create household profiles of their users by making educated guesses about how many people live in the household, what their relationships to each other are, what interests they share, and what electronic devices they use. They would use all kinds of information collected on users, from photos uploaded and tagged in, to status updates, past posts, and relationship histories to compile which users are part of the same household.
